Character Information

Name: Seras Victoria
Age: physical age: 18, actual age:49
Fandom: Hellsing
Appearance: Seras is a young woman with short, somewhat messy blonde colored hair that falls into her double ringed red eyes . Her figure is well developed. She usually wears a tight uniform of the Hellsing organization, dark red in color, with matching gloves and torn tights. She also is wearing tall brown boots. Her right arm, that used to be black and scarlet shadow, is now normal, but covered in swirling black and scarlet tattoos instead, from her shoulder to the back of her hand. This is partially covered by her sleeve and glove however.
She's not usually a fidgety person; just has she's been trained, she's usually self contained, walking with confidence and an easy smile. It's the moments where she's surprised that she can be energetic, movements jerky and clumsy.
History: Canon summary can be found here
Canon Point: End of the manga series, Anime not included. OVA yes.
Personality:
Seras is a young woman that's gone through a lot. What would cover 'a lot'? Try witnessing the death of your parents by gang members. Or growing up in a orphanage, considered a problem child that would never attain her dream. Sounds pretty boring, doesn't it? After all, she became the upholder of law and order just at the age of eighteen. Seras does get past what she didn't have, to become a strong willed woman, someone who is admirable for her morals and standing up for her beliefs.

Problem is? One night her world was turned upside down, where men who didn't know better sent her in. They didn't believe in vampires, or in the zombie like ghouls. But there was a vampire in the town of Cheddar, and Seras was killed to the bullet to the lung.

Or she should have died. Instead, she made the choice to become a vampire, and that's where it really kicks off.

Throughout the story, we see Seras having to be challenged repeatedly for her beliefs and character on multiple fronts: the desperate situation of the outside world, her new found master and mentor, and her new found urges. If she wants more power, and appease her hunger, she has to willingly drink the blood of another. But for the longest time, Seras refuses, even attempting to eat what she can no longer stomach. Perhaps it is denial of her new found state. Or more likely, it was her desperation not to be less then human. She had seen what her sire was like, as well as other vampires; most seemed to be keen on the baser instinct of feeding and carnage. To become such a thing, to forget what her father, a police officer stood for...it was more then revolting. It was terrifying. Nor did it help where she was forced into situations where her vampiric berserker fits took control, leaving her surrounded by bodies. The only thing that made it better were three things: it was a combat situation, they had already become ghouls, and it was to save herself from greater odds. Seras, above all things, did not want to hurt people if she had the choice. In fact, she was brought back from one of her fits of rage by being grabbed from being from her superior, who shouted for her to return to who she was.

It was not easy to deal with this part of her nature, and the inner conflict can be seen throughout the series. Though normally obedient to orders to superiors who had proven their worth, Seras could and would display a stubborn streak a mile wide when it came to amoral tasks. She could and would set down her feet and argue as to why it was wrong, and why couldn't they try something else. It didn't always work, as she clashed against wills as strong as her own.

And sometimes it made her cry.

Seras does not cry often though, partially due to her hard upbringing and soilder mentality. Mostly, it would be in the face of utter agony, of a conflictual clash which the 'darker' side had won. However, she never used this as an excuse to run away from the problems that arose. Instead, she shed her tears, wiped her face off, and faced it head on.

Ultimately, this is what Seras does close to the end of the series: she stops fighting her nature, and embraces who and what she was in the past, present, and future. She drank the blood of a dying friend, at his request, willingly, and become a vampire in full. But it is interesting what we see afterward: she is at ease with herself, and more comfortable in her own skin. Yet she did not sacrifice her integrity, nor her morals. She stays with the Hellsing Organization, and defends Integra from attempts on her life. Though now accepting that she has to do in order to survive, Seras refuses to let herself be swallowed by the darkness. Instead, she stays the light in the dark.

Funny enough, though she does display a certain level of worldly intelligence and bravery Seras...well...can act rather immature and tomboyish. She's been known to have her silly moments-like teasing Interga in the end chapter with jokes and dressing as Alcuard, or with her episodes of clumsiness and confusion. Her off guard moments can also be comedic; for example, after a strange dream, she lifted her pajama top to make sure there wasn't a bullet hole in her chest-without realizing first that there were people in the room.

Seras is not a perfect person by any means. But then again, Seras never will. She's never intentionally cruel, and is loyal to a fault. If nothing else, Seras Victoria would be a good friend in hard times-and these are hard times.

How she's going to react to being alone, human, and without the company she has known for so long...well, she'll adapt. Eventually. The 'how' of her adaption is the entertaining part.

Game Specific

Suitability:
Seras Victoria has always been a fighter and a solider, no matter what kind of outfits she wears-or how derpy she can be. With all the heavy fighting that she's gone through, and the final acceptance of what she is and what she can do...well, she can pull through this. It would be nice to be able to get friends though, and enjoy being human, if only for a little while.
It will be a shock to her to be human again, but as this may be temporary she'll enjoy it. It will be an adjustment to be without her powers, but there is the perk of being able to eat solid food. Most likely Seras could and will attempt to find was to distract herself so she won't get too homesick. At the very least, she won't have to depend on her powers in order to win or survive, as she does have combat training. But there's little doubt that she will be a little rusty. Not to mention, she'll be startled at how heavy her gun is these days.

Weapon: A customized Accuracy International Arctic Warfare, A customized Accuracy International Arctic Warfare as it would be possibly as by the Arctic Warfare Police. Weighting forteen pounds, this bad boy uses either .308 Winchester rounds, in a semi automatic barrel, or charges to shoot-you guessed it-high voltage lazers. She is able to load six bullets in the clip at a time, and use the lazer three times in concession. However, there is a pause between each bullet fired, and to charge up the lazer for shooting. In order to make up for it, if caught between clips or lazer charge, Seras is more then likely to use the gun itself as a blunt weapon, and may even beat someone to death with it.

Samples

Log/Third Person Sample:
She felt strange. It was as if she was not really in her skin anymore. The strangeness of sun on her skin, warm and welcome. Being able to feel tired from overwork. Hunger for something that was not blood. Was not blood...it was strange. She had resisted for so long, that now she could have more then liquid. She could have bangers and mash. Kidney pie. Fish and chips. Black blood pudding.

But they didn't have proper English food. They didn't even have proper American food. There were pluses to being truly part of the living again. But greasy nausea and gating hunger made it hard to see it sometimes. Wasn't California supposed to be the land of vegans, weird diets, and healthy food? She didn't see much of that in Santa Destroy. Mostly it was badly made food and the urge to gag that slowly went away day by day.

Who knew that someone could long for blood? At least it had nutrients. It had subtle flavors and varied from person to person. It even varied in medical bags.

But enough about her grumbling stomach; she had something to test. And the best place to do it was in Thunder Ryu's gym. There was the little the ghost had to say, after she she told him what she wanted to try, and mainly? It sounded vaguely sexual. But she ignored it, and went to the punching bag.

Thankfully, she didn't see anyone else around, and that was what she wanted. Not because she was feeling shy about being in a sports bra and spandex shorts; but this was something that she had to confirm by herself. It was her to know, and no one else. She started with the left arm, the same left arm that didn't change at all. Even wrapped in the boxing bandages, it felt good. Right left, high low; it felt the same, the good the bad, the exertion, the exercise high. She swept into a round house kick with a grunt of satisfaction.

Now the hard part.

She tightened the bandages over her right hand. The shadow arm that no longer shadow, but marked all the same the fingers flexed, her fine motor skills were there but was there any lack of strength...she needed to be strong to stay alive.

And there was one way to find out.

Left right, high low. Hook, jab. She could feel the sweat drip from her brow as she tried the gouges, then hooked an around the punching bag as she gave it a violent shove with her knee. With a grunt, Seras let go, and allowed herself to slide to the floor, satisfied. Just as fast, just as whole as her other arm. Just like it was before that hellish night.

She tried not to think about it as she rubbed her tattooed arm over her eyes. It was just as easy as convincing herself that the wetness on her cheeks was sweat, and not tears.

Journal Entry/First Person Sample:

I shouldn't have gone into that store. The logo is a big liar. I mean-Beef Head, right? I thought it was a butcher shop, something better then the deli. I'm not saying it's bad but-it's nothing like home.

They don't even documentaries or series on cooking. I couldn't find any and if I did? I think I went into the wrong section. I saw a very sticky floor and some things I would not base and put in my oven.

Honestly, some of you men are cheap perverts. I'm not going into that part of the store if I can help it.

Anyway, just checking in to see if you lot are all right. I'll answer once I'm done scrubbing my eyes clean. Cheers.
